Tissue Regeneration 1 - 2 hrs
Healthy gums cling tightly to the necks of your teeth. When gums become
infected due to periodontal disease, they pull away from the tooth surface
in response to the infection, creating deep pockets around your teeth.
The destructive bacteria thrive in these deepened pockets, resulting
in bone loss, periododntal abscess etc.
To eliminate this bacterial "breeding ground," regenerate
the missing structures and prevent the tooth loss, one of the options
we recommend is a guided tissue regeneration procedure which will restore
health to your teeth and gums.
we thoroughly numb the affected area. We will carefully separate your
gums from the teeth. This creates a small flap, giving us access to
the area so we can gently remove any plaque and tartar from the surfaces
of the exposed root.
After the detoxification of the root surface, we then place the new
bone tissue and collagen membrane strategically over the prepared area,
and secure it into place with a few tiny sutures.
After the site heals, usually within a few weeks, the root surface is
covered and protected, and your tooth support and its prognosis will
be greatly improved.
